We would like to remain an affordable option for as many families as possible.  This is not possible without tapping into the vast talents and expertise of those who send their children here.   The SCS board and staff are requesting your time and talents to help meet school needs.  We are asking each two-parent family (of students in grades 1-8) to invest 30 hours of their time for the 2005-06 school year by helping with repairs, coaching, monitoring the play-ground, working on fund-raisers and school promotion, etc..   Parents of P4 and K5 students are asked to give 15 hours of their time, and single parents are asked to invest one-half the amount required for two-parent families. The number of hours requested is the same whether your have one child or two or more children enrolled at SCS.

The value of time is calculated at $25.00 per hour, so the expected service time would be valued at $750. ($375 for P4, K5).  Please understand that your time and effort is more valuable than the money.  The SALT fee will be charged to each family's account at the beginning of each school year.  This fee is in addition to tuition. As completed hours are turned in your account will be credited accordingly.  

Each family will log their own hours.   When the required hours are completed, the voucher may be returned to the Administration Office for the appropriate credit.  If you prefer, you can turn your hours in quarterly.   Hours completed in full, or payment, will be due by June 1st.  For the purposes of fulfilling your SALT hours each school year begins August 1st.   You may start keeping track of SALT hours beginning on that date each school year.  SALT hours may also be submitted by using the online form:   SALT Form
